The spiritual legacy of Father Alexander is large and varied: books, lectures, sermons, words of counsel at general confessions. In this prolific stream there is a unique rivulet: the home conversations around a table. This form derived from the very personality of Father Alexander as well as from his pastoral concerns and the temper of the times. His care of souls was marked by personal, intimate spiritual communion, and the time of persecution rendered this flexible form particularly important for preaching and spiritual direction.
